The inspiration for Moon & Shadow came during an evening walk. The full moon hung low on the horizon — so close it felt like you could reach out and touch it. So I imagined someone doing exactly that. Not just touching it, but pulling it down from the sky.
The name Sebastian came from Lloyd Alexander’s The Marvelous Misadventures of Sebastian, a favorite from my youth. With that first image, and that name, the earliest chapters fell into place. At the time, I had no idea that a single act — pulling the moon from the sky — would grow into the entire magical kingdom of Liamec, now spanning seven books and counting.
