A few voices from The Channeler Trilogy simply refused to stay quiet—Sunshine, Raphael, and their companions Iggy and Cutter all had more to say. This story gave them a new stage.

I was also inspired by Terry Pratchett’s Discworld books. I hoped to weave in a touch of his humor—not quite his voice, perhaps, but something gently absurd and a bit wry in my own way.

And then there’s the vampire. I set out to write a vampire tale, but Viktor had other ideas. He’s not your usual brooding immortal, and he didn’t let the story follow the rules.

In the end, Sunshine Over Hero blends humor, friendship, and fangs in a standalone tale that also threads into The Channeler Trilogy and the wider world of Liamec.
